Alabama Football Intensifies Run Game Focus Ahead of LSU Matchup
Alabama football is intensifying its focus on improving its run game, a perceived weakness from the end of the 2025 season, in preparation for an upcoming game against LSU.
Mobile Pensacola, AL, October 30, 2026 — The Alabama football program is reportedly directing increased attention toward enhancing its ground attack as it prepares for an upcoming contest against LSU. This strategic shift comes in response to observations that the team’s run game was a perceived area of weakness towards the conclusion of the 2025 season.
Sources indicate that coaches are dedicating additional practice time and strategic planning sessions to bolster the effectiveness of their rushing plays. The objective appears to be to establish a more dominant and consistent run game that can be relied upon in critical moments, especially against formidable opponents like LSU. While the trend summary did not specify the exact nature of the perceived weaknesses, such as issues with blocking, ball-carrying, or play-calling, the focus on improvement suggests a comprehensive approach.
The timing of this intensified focus is particularly noteworthy, as it directly precedes a high-stakes game against a traditional rival. The LSU Tigers are known for their competitive strength, and a well-rounded offensive capability, including a potent run game, is often seen as crucial for success in such matchups. The team’s commitment to refining this aspect of their offense underscores the importance of balance and physicality in their preparation.
The summary did not provide details regarding specific personnel changes, coaching adjustments, or statistical targets related to this run game improvement initiative. However, the emphasis placed on this area signals a clear intention to address identified shortcomings and strengthen a fundamental component of their offensive strategy before facing LSU. This concentrated effort is expected to be a key storyline as the season progresses towards this significant conference game.
