Cronus Market Intelligence, LLC published a year-end 2026 close range for the S&P 500 of 7,892 to 8,542 and rates the index Bull Strengthening.
The range is drawn from prior years whose market state matched today’s; across those years the close landed inside a comparable band roughly 70% of the time — a distribution, not a point forecast, and deliberately wide.
Seventeen years matched, drawn from the 1928–2025 record, scored August 4 to December 31 close. The range is fixed at publication and never re-based, so it can be marked right or wrong on December 31. Most forecasters revise theirs as the year goes.
