About Wrongful Death and Trucking Accident Cases
Wrongful death claims allow surviving family members to seek compensation when a loved one dies as a result of another party’s negligence or misconduct. In cases involving commercial vehicles — including trucks, trailers, and oversized loads such as cranes — federal and state regulations impose strict requirements on transport companies and drivers regarding vehicle maintenance, load securement, licensing, and safe operation. When these requirements are violated, families may be entitled to pursue damages for funeral and burial expenses, loss of companionship, loss of financial support, and other losses resulting from the death.
